Their Trade Was Treachery

In 1981 a sensational book called “Their Trade is Treachery” by investigative journalist Harry Chapman Pincher was released claiming that Russia had infiltrated MI5 at the highest levels. A number of enemies have called the squares of London home during their lives. This walk travels through their stories and how they aimed to harm Britain.

Starting at Piccadilly Circus we start by walking to meet the faithful Nazi buried near to the home of the British Royal Family and learn how a funeral provided some of the more shocking propaganda images seen on London’s streets. We hear about the Cambridge circle who defected to Russia and how a siege at the Libyan embassy cost lives and ended relations for decades. We’ll also see where the secret service still interviews to this very day.

Our walk ends at Browns Hotel in Mayfair near to Green Park.
