westminster's wonderful women

From a statue of a Greek Goddess to the home of the three women to hold the highest office in British Politics, Westminster has some fascinating links to women. This walk will introduce you to some of them.

We start this walk at Green Park Underground Station where we'll see the fountain of the Greek God Diana. From here we'll meet one of the enfants terrible of the British arts scene, walk to hear of the woman credited as the first computer programmer in the world, how a woman's society party was disrupted by the escape of an emperor and then walk to meet the Lady with the Lamp.

Continuing onto Whitehall we see the statue to the efforts of women in the second world war and hear how a TV show helped with the funding before eventually finishing our walk outside the most famous residence in Westminster which has been home to three women, Margaret Thatcher, Theresa May and Liz Truss.

The walk finishes just up from Westminster Underground Station.
