Islington from A to B

Travel through one of London's most fascinating neighborhoods from Angel to Barbican on a guided walk that will show you how Islington has changed to become one of London's hottest places.

Our walk starts from Angel Underground Station and takes us to see some of the great water reservoirs, which ensured that London could remain hydrated, we'll see one of the World's most renowned dance theatres, walk down past an old bowling green before seeing the former Clerkenwell House of Detention, which led to London's last public execution.

 

We'll then walk to Clerkenwell Green, where we'll hear stories of radicals, freemasons and see the water source that bv gives the area it's name, the Clerk's Well. Travelling on we'll tell you about the Knights of St. John and introduce yhou to their headquarters in London.

 

We then walk to Smithfield, the former execution ground of religious and political martyrs that now hosts a world-famous meat market and then finish at Charterhouse Square, where you'll hear of Monks who angered Henry VIII and we'll introduce you to a Belgian detective.

 

The walk ends at Barbican Station
